Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Yahya Dalbah, trading as MakeAICV (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles personal data when you use MakeAICV (the “Service”). We aim to collect only what we need to run the Service.

In short: we do not sell your personal data, we do not use it for advertising or third-party tracking, and we never use your CV content to train AI models. We only collect what the Service needs to work (such as your account email and the CV content you create).

1. Data we collect

• Account data: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, a Google account identifier. Passwords are stored only as a salted hash — we never see your plain-text password.
• CV content: the information you enter or import to build CVs and cover letters (e.g. work history, education, contact details, photo).
• Payment data: handled by our payment processor — we do not store your card details (see “Payments” below).
• Usage & technical data: basic logs such as IP address, browser type, and feature usage, used for security, rate limiting, and improving the Service.

2. How we use your data

• to provide, maintain, and secure the Service and your account;
• to generate PDFs and power AI writing, import, and tailoring features;
• to process payments and manage subscriptions;
• to respond to support requests and prevent abuse or fraud.

3. AI processing

AI features are available on paid plans (a new account may also receive one complimentary résumé import). When you use one (AI writing, job tailoring, cover-letter generation, or résumé import), the relevant content is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic (the “Claude” API), to generate the result. For résumé import, this includes the PDF you upload. We send only what is needed to perform the request, and we do not use your Content to train AI models.

4. Payments

Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd (“Paddle”), who acts as the merchant of record. Paddle collects your payment and billing information directly and processes it under Paddle’s own privacy policy. We receive only limited details such as your plan, subscription status, and country — never your full card number.

5. Storage & service providers

We use trusted third parties (“subprocessors”) to operate the Service, including: a cloud database provider (for storing accounts and CVs), application and static hosting providers, our AI provider, our payment processor, a Google sign-in provider, and an email-delivery provider for contact messages. Each processes data only as needed to provide their service to us.

If you use the Service as a guest without an account, your CVs are stored locally in your browser (local storage) and remain on your device until you clear them or create an account.

6. Cookies & local storage

We use browser storage for essential functionality only — for example, keeping you signed in (an authentication token) and saving guest CVs on your device. We do not use advertising cookies.

7. Data retention

We keep account and CV data for as long as your account is active. When you delete a CV or your account, we delete the associated data, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal, tax, or security obligations.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can edit or delete your CVs in the app, and you can request account deletion by contacting us. To exercise your rights, email [email protected].

9. International transfers

Our providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, take additional steps where required.
